In 1995, we took part in the Legislative Council elections for the first time, winning 6 of 60 seats. Before this the DAB’s had only one representative in the council. In the three Legislative Council elections since the establishment of the Special Administrative Region, DAB has consistently achieved a historic high in the number of seats won. From 9 seats in 1998, the figure increased to 11 in 2000. By 2008, the number was 13 seats, winning 433,684 votes in the geographical direct elections, to become the top party represented at the Legislative Council. Currently we have 13 seats in the Legislative Council.
